1. The Dark Knight

Most people will come out of the latest Batman movie talking about Heath Ledger’s performance, and fair enough… He’s superbly awesome as The Joker and, you know… dead… So obviously he will get the main slice of the attention.

But really, Aaron Eckhart deserves as much credit for his performance as Dent, transforming into a completely different character than what he starts out as. (Shouldn’t be much of a surprise if you know the comicbooks…) Bale? I think he nails Batman. Hell, the whole ensemble cast is really quite something. As is Nolan who has put together the most interesting, plot heavy superhero movie I’ve ever seen.

The Dark Knight is, in other words, the shit, and the best summermovie this season, edging out Iron Man and Indy.

I don’t think he’s particularly funny. Is that wrong? I suppose some of his stuff isn’t too bad… He was OK in Dog Bites Man (easily the least funny character though) and Visioneers actually looks pretty good.

But overall? How long is he going to get away with pulling the same schtick he always does? Is it the beard that makes it funny? Somebody really needs to explain all of this to me…

Apparently these are the kind of sunglasses you’re supposed to wear these days to be, you know, hip as fuck…

All I can say is, I don’t get it… I mean, it looks OK on some people (as opposed to the dreaded hipster helmet) but for most of us?

I have to give thumbs down…

So for the next ten days and nine nights I’ve decided to do a cleansing of my system. Why I’m doing this is anybody’s guess, but hey, we all need a challenge. My short list for these ten days and nine nights are…

• No alcohol. I can not recall last time I went that long without booze…
• Only eat at home. Not much of a problem.
• No pre-processed type foods. Again, not much of an issue.
• Daily walks from Browne’s, to Riverfront Park, up to Gonzaga, and back. I started doing this about a month ago, as my knees haven’t been happy with me jogging as of late. Not sure about the length, but it’s roughly an hour and a half when I keep up a brisk pace.
• Clean all the room in my condo. OK, this isn’t part of cleansing out the system per se, but it is cleansing!

Of course, we all remember how well it went last time I challenged myself, but whatever… I’m optimistic this’ll work out.

Yes, I know the *sugar sites are aimed at ladies. No, I don’t care. I particularly enjoy geeksugar, and in this post, Spokane almost kinda sorta gets some love. Or the Tango does at least.

Or possibly Clooney gets most of the love. Whateva’!
